The Gallery

Our refurbishment of this space in 2021/22 has transformed this building from a large, crumbling stone outbuilding, that sat empty at the end of our courtyard, to the heart of all activities at The Edible Flower.

The Gallery* is now a magical event space with vaulted ceilings and beautifully restored original stone walls. (It is now structurally sound and water light which makes Jo immensely happy and proud!)

Fairy lights adorn the exposed rafters, and large glazed doors connect the space with both the courtyard and picnic tables, and our vegetable fields and new fire pit area nestled beneath a giant sycamore tree.

We use The Gallery for supper clubs (seats up to 30), workshops and classes, yoga classes (12 students) and most importantly staff lunch! The Gallery has an insulated roof and floor and is heated with a large wood-burning stove.

*But why is it called “The Gallery”? Jo’s Granny (an artist and an inspiration) left us some money during our construction project which enabled us to keep going and complete our project. We wanted to name the space in her honour and gradually fill it with art (hers and by others), hence “The Gallery”. Read more about Jo’s Granny and her lessons for life here!
